Fixed LTE, also known as Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), is a broadband internet solution that utilizes LTE (Long-Term Evolution) technology to deliver high-speed internet access to homes and businesses in areas where traditional wired broadband infrastructure may be limited or unavailable. It involves installing an outdoor antenna at the user’s location, which communicates with a nearby LTE base station to establish a wireless connection to the internet service provider’s network. Fixed LTE offers comparable speeds to traditional wired broadband services, making it a viable alternative for areas where deploying fiber or cable infrastructure is impractical or cost-prohibitive.
MTN Uncapped Fixed LTE
MTN’s variation on Uncapped LTE involves an Acceptable Usage Policy Data Cap. While the total monthly usage is below the data cap, the user can enjoy full speed connectivity. When the user exceeds the AUP Data Cap, the user’s speed will be lowered to the AUP Speed limit. MTN Geo-locks your device to the nearest tower upon activation. This is not a mobile solution.
